What is a De-Oxo Nitrogen Gas Plant?
A De-Oxo Nitrogen Gas Plant is a secondary purification unit used after a PSA or Membrane Nitrogen Generator. It removes residual oxygen present in nitrogen gas to achieve ultra-high purity.
In this process, a small and controlled quantity of hydrogen gas is injected into the nitrogen stream. Inside the De-Oxo reactor, oxygen reacts with hydrogen in the presence of a catalyst and converts into water vapor, which is later removed using a high-efficiency gas dryer.
Chemical Reaction:
O₂ + 2H₂ → 2H₂O
The result is dry, oxygen-free, high-purity nitrogen gas suitable for critical industrial applications.
